Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress singer and dancer. Her first Broadway performances, she starred in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The actress was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Play in the role of Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford is a Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside acclaimed actors and directors for stage productions and on television. She continues this award-winning career by working on new projects. Ashford can be seen next starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will be aired on Disney DTC as it becomes a Hulu Original. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford returns to Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This show will be produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who produced Hamilton. Ashford's last part was that of Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the national scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, as well as Linda Tripp. Ashford was the main character in two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive. It was produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. The show featured Linda Lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her portrayal of Essie on You Can't Take It with You won her the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren in Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and brought up in Denver, now spends time in Los Angeles and New York.
